Designing With Elements was honored to put the spark into this beautiful modern-style home in Garden City, NY, owned by a local Long Island architect. As a unique focal point to the entryway, we created a landscape design with rigid, modern plantings and flowers. The landscape lighting adds additional character and drama once the sun goes down.

Objectives

Create an inviting entryway
Ease the transition from the driveway to the elevated front door
Use traditional-style building materials with a modern layout

Challenges

Compound sloping yard with 13′ elevation change
Maintain existing retaining walls while incorporating new entryway
Add low-voltage lighting to the ascending walkway
