Designing With Elements had a chance to give back to our community with this Welcome Home Project. We wanted to give an injured and decorated war veteran an outdoor living space perfect for him and his family to enjoy some much-needed family time. With very little space in Atlantic Beach, NY, we had to maximize it. Space is equipped with a BBQ station, gas fire pit, seat wall, Unilock paver patio, Kichler outdoor lighting fixtures, and some lush plant material. This 700 sq. ft. outdoor space is going to host lots of lasting memories for this family.

Objectives

Providing usable space with tight space constraints
Allow space to be usable both during the day when barbecuing and dining and at night with low voltage lighting and gas fire pit
Providing this war hero and his family a space for lasting memories

Challenges

Limited space for equipment and material while constructing this project
Allowing for proper stormwater drainage while maximizing usable patio space
